Signs It's Time

How to tell your pool needs resurfacing.

Rough to the touch

The surface feels like sandpaper on your feet and hands.

Stains that won't brush out

Dark spots, rings or blotches that stay no matter how much you brush.

Chipping or flaking

Pieces of the finish come loose and you can see the layer underneath.

Cracks and hollow spots

Fine cracks or areas that sound hollow when you tap them.

Faded, patchy color

The finish looks washed out or uneven across the pool.

Losing water

Cracks in the surface can let water escape. We'll check what's causing it.

FAQ

Questions homeowners ask us.

What is pool resurfacing?

Resurfacing replaces the worn inside finish of a concrete pool with a fresh layer, like new plaster or a pebble finish. It brings back a smooth, clean surface and protects the shell underneath.

Is replastering the same as resurfacing?

Mostly. Replastering means putting on a new plaster finish. Resurfacing covers any new inside finish, including pebble. We do both.

How do I know if my pool needs resurfacing?

Look for a rough surface, stains that won't brush out, chipping or flaking, cracks or hollow spots, and faded, patchy color. If you're not sure, we'll come look for free.

When should I remodel my pool?

When the surface is worn, the tile or coping is cracked or loose, or the pool just looks dated. Since the pool is drained for resurfacing, it's a great time to replace tile and coping too.
